best thing i learned working with and learning about kids: when they do shit like this, especially to something they themselves use and enjoy, leave it there for as long as possible. let them return to the fun thing over and over again so that it sinks in that the thing they did was wrong, they ruined something, and now they can’t have fun because of it and they should never do it again. it teaches them consequence of action and cautiousness.

i did this with a 3-year-old kid i babysat who filled his playstation with peanut butter before i got there, just every time he went back to it and asked why it’s not working, i opened it and pointed to the peanut butter stains and said “you did that” and he says “yeah”, “will it work like that?” “…no”, and when he got it and promised to never put anything but games into a game machine again, his parents bought another and he kept his promise. it works, even at that age.

this was a long and unnecessary rant but so many times i’ve seen parents IMMEDIATELY replace their kids’ toys/electronics that they destroy over and over again and i’m just like NO THEY’RE NOT LEARNING ANYTHING THAT WAY

they also don’t learn from being thrown into fires

yeah but they’re quieter that way

  • Aries:

Messy, messy, messy. 'The chair' (you know which chair I'm talking about) has probably disappeared among all their clothes. Theory is that it probably fused to the ground.

  • Taurus:

They have an ingrained connection with every single one of their posessions. They know you moved that sock 0.2 meters to the left don't deny it.

  • Gemini:

Where's the floor? No one knows anymore. When they magically decide to clean up, it's like christmas morning when they find something they don't even remember having. Then, they get distracted by said thing and forget about cleaning up.

  • Cancer:

Their room is their sanctuary. Probably going through an ant invasion because of all the food they eat there. Most likely to have a secret food stash.

  • Leo:

Usually organized, though they can be lazy. They probably don't move enough to have a mess.

  • Virgo:

Same as Taurus. Like the Eye of Sauron, they know everything that goes down there. They go into phases in which everything is probably color coded. They get lazy and give up a few weeks later when no one notices.

  • Libra:

Probably unlivable until they decide Today is the Day and organize everything. They get bored halfway through and go back to feeling sorry for themselves because their rooms aren't pretty.

  • Scorpio:

The walls are full with their interests. The mess control is manageable. Once you go in, it might be too dark to find your way out.

  • Sagittarius:

Doesn't care at all about mess. Until they see someone else's clean room and their competitive gene appears. Soon it dies down and they go back to not caring.

  • Capricorn:

Puts everyone else's to shame. Mostly, because like Leo, they are not naturally messy. Can be OCD about their space.

  • Aquarius:

Their interests are also everywhere. They sleep next to their laptop. Their desk is no man's land.

  • Pisces:

Clutter is their natural habitat. They probably don't remember the last time they turned on the lights. The windows have never been opened. An excavation team is needed to find the floor. Until people come over, then it's DEFCON 4 and everything is either organized or hidden.

THIS IS IMPORTANT!

Yesterday, I went to Disneyland. Apparently, at their Innovations building, there is a HUGE Avengers exhibit, complete with appearances by Captain America and Thor. Naturally, I ran screaming into said building, camera at the ready. After falling on the ground in front of the array of Iron Man suits and bursting into tears at the Steve Rogers exhibit (exactly like the Smithsonian one in TWS) I got in line to meet the Star-Spangled Man. (The workers were all awesome, they loved that I was such a nerd and so unbelievably excited to meet the Captain.)

My purse has a large Doctor Who pin on it, (not pictured) and the camera man for Steve pointed at it, looked at Cap, and was like “Look at this, it says something about she’s a Doctor?” and Cap points at it and goes "Oh, that looks like a blue police box!" so I said, (I was speechless guys I literally am such a dweeb) "It is." and he said "When I was in England doing an Op in 1942, I was stuck in a burning building and a man named John Smith pulled me out of the building, and then ran into a blue police box just like that and disappeared. Do you know if this has anything to do with that?"

I DON’T EVEN REMEMBER WHAT I SAID IN RESPONSE. YOU GUYS. THE CAPTAIN AMERICA AT DISNEYLAND WATCHES DOCTOR WHO. HARDCORE REFERENCED DOCTOR WHO. KNEW ABOUT THE WHOLE JOHN SMITH ALIAS THING. CAPTAIN AMERICA WATCHES DOCTOR WHO. I AM IN TEARS REMEMBERING ALL OF THIS.

anyways, we took pictures, i cried when i walked out, thought you all ought to know. the end.

This dude knows his stuff.  He’s the same Cap that I saw during my bachelorette party.  When I gave him a drawing as a gift for his upcoming July 4th ‘birthday’, I mentioned I thought he would appreciate it because I knew he had gone to art school before the war.  He GRINNED so big and said "Wow, no one ever remembers that!"

He also made me punch his shield because I had my Winter Soldier jacket on.

Disney, KEEP HIM, HE’S PERFECT

GUYS COLORADO NEEDS SOME HELP
There is a bill about to be passed called Amendment 67 that is the ban on ALL abortions. THIS INCLUDES IF THE MOTHER WOULD DIE OR IF SHE WAS RAPED. THIS BILL ALSO CAN MAKE POLICE INSTIGATE ALL NON-LIVE BIRTHS (MISCARRIAGE/STILLBORN).
If you want more information, the article is [here] and they have an indigogo page [here] to help fund the stop of Amendment 67.
TUMBLR PLEASE BLOW THIS UP. PLEASE IM BEGGING YOU

holy shit what the fuck Colorado!?

(taken from the news site)
Here’s what Amendment 67 would really do:
Outlaw all abortion in Colorado, even in cases of rape and incest.
Ban some of the most common and effective forms of birth control, including the Pill and IUDs.
Make it illegal for a pregnant women with cancer to choose treatment that could save her life.
Restrict options for women wanting in vitro fertilization.
Any birth that isn’t a live-birth — so miscarriages and still births — could be deemed suspicious deaths and would be investigated by police.

what the fuck that is disgusting

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK

It’s not your body anymore, when there is a baby present. Carry that child to term responsibly, or you’re a murderer.

No, I’m sorry, but that’s idiotic.  It’s my body no matter what.  If I wanted to get an abortion i’d get a fucking abortion regardless if that made me a murderer in someone who doesn’t have to actually carry a baby’s eyes.  Birth control being more widely available is a serious issue.  You’re stupid if you think every situation that leads to abortion makes someone a murderer.  11 year old gets raped by her cousin “No girl, you carry that child, you squeeze that out of your currently underdeveloped vagina.  It’s the right thing to do.  You’re a murderer if you don’t.  Who cares that it’ll emotionally scar you for life and you’ll forever be reminded of it every time you look at your child or cousin.  It’s the humane thing to do.  If you were older you’d understand.”  Shit, the same thing happened to a nine year old “Who the fuck cares if you’re only a baby yourself, you’re totally going to go through with this, I don’t care if it’ll nearly kill you or damage your insides.  Raise that baby like a good non-murderer.”

Then we go overseas where it’s all “You’re pregnant out of wedlock, let’s stone you to death instead of giving you and others like you birth control or the option to abort.  I’m sorry that we live in such a fucked up society that if I force myself on you and get pregnant you’re still the one who is shamed.  Wait no I’m not, suck it up and deal with it”, “You’ve been told your baby is dying in the womb, no abortion for you girl, you have to keep it and die of blood poisoning.  Too bad we could have avoided it if we were more understanding of a woman and her body”.

Open your eyes for God’s sake.  You can’t even get pregnant, you’re a man and I get that you have a right to your unborn child and the potential for mental trauma.  But you personally are not at risk of dying from pregnancy complications.  You personally are not at risk of being shunned by your community and killed for carrying someone elses child.  You personally are not having to carry the mental and physical scars of going through an unwanted pregnancy with your potential rapists child.  You personally are not at risk of being considered used, dirty and unwanted because of something you could have avoided if proper health care was available to you.  You aren’t personally responsible for raising a child (or person with mental capacity of a child) who also has a child because “Abortion is murder in all circumstances”.

It’s not your body either, and until you have to deal with everything above then you cannot tell a woman what she can and cannot do with her body.

My roommate, laying it the fuck down.

I AM ALL FOR ABORTION IN THE CASE OF RAPE

Isn’t a smoker’s body still her body? Does that mean it’s ok for her to smoke while pregnant? What about an alcoholic, it’s her body, so it’s ok to drink while she’s pregnant? I’m all for abortion in the case of rape, but if you decide to have sex without a condom or when you know you could get pregnant, that’s your own damn fault. I am a man, therefore I can’t get pregnant, but if I could, I would care for child (sorry, FETUS) that I was carrying. It is your body, but when you become pregnant, you are sharing it. So hold both parties responsible.

TL;DR I’m all for abortion in the case of rape. But as someone who’s father wanted him aborted when there was a chance I would be born with down syndrome, I find getting an abortion for any other reason then you were raped to be selfish. If it weren’t for my mother being against abortion, I probably wouldn’t be here.

But hey, that’s just the opinion of someone who was almost aborted.

Excuse me but you said it. You are a man, you can’t get pregnant, you have no idea what women go thought, you have no idea of the social stigma that carries , for example, getting pregnant at a young age, you have no idea.

If you had sex without a condom ofc it’s the girl AND THE BOY’S fault but who carries with the weight? WOMEN, not MEN, and even if it was a mistake why would you bring a baby to this world just to live with a (usually) absent father and a mother who might not love the baby, and the family might not help so what’s going to happen to that baby? what if the mother has no cash? there are so many variables in this thing that could go wrong with unwanted pregnancy and all of them are a life time cruelty for that baby you thought it was more important to bring here just because “you made a mistake”. Not all unwanted pregnancies end up in happy stories, have that in mind for a second, not all unwanted pregnancies are for rape also.

Have also in mind this is AN OPTION, you are not forced to take it if you don’t want to, if you feel capable of raising a baby , good. this is for the ones who don’t feel/are truly not capable.

also don’t compare it to smoking, that’s fucking bullshit, do you know what passive smokers are? yeah people like me that has to slowly and invisibly take damage because you decided to smoke. Pregnancy wouldn’t affect a 3rd party like that but would murder mothers, fathers, families or the same baby after it’s born in terrible conditions…..

so please don’t even.

Each main Legend of Korra villain represents a different political ideology.

Even the more minor villains like Varrick (who is not always necessarily a villain) and the Earth Queen represent ideologies as well:  Capitalism and Monarchy, respectively.

Oh god guys. JK Rowling is a genius, and so is this person.

the thing I love about this fandom is that there are 7 books and 8 movies to observe. so every once in a while some blessed soul finds a piece of information that makes all the magic resurface again

Mind. Blown.

Oh Lord…it’s a metaphor too. It’s symbolic of Neville holding on to his past, the horrors of what happened to his parents, of being a passive vessel for that atrocity. As if the terrible thing kept happening and would never stop happening.
When he moves forward and becomes part of his own story instead of the story of his past, his strength surges.

It also shows that if you give a kid the wrong tool, he may be a genius but he’s never going to be able to build something with it.
